What Happens When You Get A Bone Marrow Transplant

The transplant is done to replace the condition of the bone marrow are damaged and no longer able to produce blood cells healthy. Transplant is also commonly done to replace blood cells damaged or destroyed by the cancer treatment intensive. Bone marrow transplant used to treat some of the following conditions:

  • Aplastic Anemia (failed bone marrow)
  • Leukemia (blood cancer)
  • Lymphoma (cancer that affects white blood cells)
  • Myeloma (a cancer that affects cells called plasma cells)
